Our commitment to you

Link Support is committed to maintaining a high standard of service for our service users, guardians and support workers. We ensure that we remain completely transparent with our service users at all times. To measure the quality of our service and receive regular feedback, we use the following three methods:

QUESTIONNAIRES

We distribute a comprehensive annual quality assurance questionnaire to gather feedback from individuals we support, family members and other allied professionals involved in the services we support.

regular communication

A member of our management team is always in regular communication with individuals we support, family members and other key support staff, either via in-person visitation or with 24-hour telephone support.

We conduct monthly reviews and regular monitoring our provision of service. We also conduct a formal review of the support plan every year.

Positive Behaviour Support

All+three+-+picture+frame.jpg

At Link Support we use Positive Behaviour Support to help people improve their quality of life, by reducing challenging behaviour and aiming to minimize the need for physical interventions as a management strategy.

Our approach combines years of experience of applying best practice techniques including PROACT-SCIPr-UK®,   NICE guidance and the PBS Competence Framework. We have two certified PROACT-SCIPr-UK® instructors who train staff, develop and monitor all aspects of PBS in our services.

 What is PBS?

Positive Behaviour Support is a person-centred approach to people with a learning disability who may be at risk of displaying challenging behaviours.

  • It is backed by evidence from behavioural science

  • Provides support based on inclusion, choice, participation and equality of opportunity

What are the key principles?

PBS seeks to understand the reasons for behavior so that unmet needs can be met.

  • Considers the person as a whole including their life history, physical health, environmental factors and emotional needs

  • It is proactive focusing on teaching of new skills to replace behaviors that challenge

  • Seeks input from all individuals involved in support including allied health and social care professionals.
